The Process:

Converting the analog signal to digital:

Knobs The first step in the transfer process is to clean the original 78 or LP.  The cleaner the original, the better the transfer.  To learn the proper way to clean and care for your LPs and 78s visit our Care and Cleaning Page. While the original is being played, it is actually being recorded at a higher quality (bit rate) than a retail CD.  After the signal has been recorded into the computer the audio cleanup (restoration) can commence.

Cleaning up the audio:

Mixer This is the stage where the "magic" takes place. The software used will make a temporary fix by eliminating what it perceives as pops and crackles. Care must be taken to review the processed signals to make sure that there was not too much music signal removed. The amount of restoration will be adjusted to reduce the maximum amount of noise without affecting the music quality. In some instances, the automatic correction is replaced by manual correction to protect the integrity of the audio. The result will be a "cleaned up" version of the original.

Eliminating unwanted noises:

When live recordings are received, such as a church sermon series or a piano recital, there are unwanted noises in the recordings such as a cough, sneeze, etc. These can be removed and the space eliminated as if it never occurred.

Recording the files to the digital media:

Compact Disc

After the material has been cleaned it is then saved as a digital file. These audio files are then arranged in the same sequence as the original files, mastered, and recorded onto only high quality professional grade media for the best possible results and long life.

Welcome!

TurntableMany of us have old LPs and 45s that we used to listen to when we were younger. Possibly we even have some old 78s that belonged to our parents or grandparents. The problem is now we have no way to listen to them. How about that stack of cassette tapes from church services or special events? Why go out and buy all new equipment when really all you need is a new CD?

Current technology has made it possible to affordably retreive that long-lost music that created so many hours of enjoyment. Not only will you be able to carry your old music with you, but it will also be free of the annoying tape hiss and drastically reduced pops and crackle.

Some customers, however, really desire the authentic "vinyl sound" with all of the pops and crackle to which they have become accustomed. We can provide the audio transfer without noise reduction, or with limited amounts to appease these customers also.

Keeping you informed along the way is very important to us.  We will send you an e-mail confirming that we have received your materials and when the process is beginning.  If there are any questions, we will contact you before the transfer process begins. We will also notify you when we are finished and your materials are heading back to you.
