A. In a word, possibly. If the material is still available, by all means purchase from them or another retailer. When you purchase this way the retailer makes a profit, and more importantly, the artist receives a royalty and the copyright owner receives a royalty. Q. Do you give any discounts?
A. Yes, see the price section on the "Ordering" page. We have recently reduced our transfer prices as a Spring special. Also watch the Home Page for Special Offers.
Q. Do you offer any other services?
A. Yes, see the "Other Services" page.
Q. Which shipping company should we use to send our records to you?
A. It really depends on the quantity that you are sending. You can use the US Postal Service, UPS, or FedEx if sending less than 5 LPs, 45s, or cassettes. It would be better to use UPS or FedEx if you are sending more than 5 or if you are sending ANY 78 RPM records. 78s are more fragile and easily damaged. Regardless of the shipper you use, be sure to properly package your valuable items. Positive Feedback Studios is not responsible for items damaged during shipping.

Q. Why hire someone to transfer my music if I can do it myself?
A. Audio recording software and hardware is becoming more affordable each year. The main problem is understanding the various aspects and features of each software package. Ask yourself this question. Do I really want to purchase the software and hardware to use just a few times? If the answer is yes, go for it and have fun, really, it can be fun.
Q. Why does it take so long to get my tapes/ records back?
A. All recording is done in "real time." For example, as the record is being played, it is being digitally recorded into the computer. After the recording is made, it is evaluated to determine if additional noise reduction is required to eliminate hiss and crackle. The digital files are then transferred to CD. For more information see the "Process" section of the Home page.
Q. Are there any legal issues regarding the copying of LPs and tapes?
A. As with any copyrighted material, there are specific legal rights and protections with which you should be aware. See the "Legal Issues" page for more details.
Q. What if I want multiple copies?
A. There are three simple ways to receive multiple copies of your material. You must provide proof that YOU are the copyright holder, it is all original (non-copyrighted) material, or you can provide written permission of the valid copyright holder including the number of copies allowed.
